Buying the full game
How do I unlock the full game?
Tap any gold stone with a lock on the adventure map. Answer the grown-ups question, then buy through Google Play. Every world unlocks straight away, with nothing else to buy.
I reinstalled the game or got a new tablet. How do I get the full game back?
Make sure the device is signed in to Google Play with the account that bought the game, and is online. The game finds the purchase by itself when it starts. If it hasn't, tap a locked stone and choose Restore purchase.
If it says no purchase was found, the device's Google Play is probably using a different account. Add the buying account in the Play Store app, then try Restore purchase again.
Can my other children use the purchase?
Yes, on any device signed in to the Google Account that bought it. A child with their own Google Account on their own device would need to buy it separately.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Google Play. Open the Play Store app, go to Payments and subscriptions, then Budget and history, find Pip's Pond and request a refund.
Progress and certificates
Will my child lose their progress if I reinstall?
Progress is saved on the device. If backup is switched on in Android's settings, Android usually brings it back after reinstalling. If backup is off, the game starts again from Pond 1, though a bought full game can always be restored.
How does the name on certificates work?
Open a certificate, type a name and tap Save name. The name can then be changed one more time with Change name, so a spelling mistake can be fixed. After that it stays the same on every certificate.
How do I save or print a certificate?
Open the certificate and tap Save picture. After the grown-ups question, Android's share menu opens: save it to your photos, send it, or print it from there.
Playing
My child is stuck on a level.
Tap the cog, then Show a hint. How to play explains the level, and on levels that bring in a new block, Replay the lesson runs the guided lesson again. Step runs the program one move at a time, which helps to find the block that goes wrong.
How do I remove a block?
Press and hold the block in the program for a moment. It shrinks and disappears. You can also drag it back to the blocks at the top. Undo brings back anything removed by mistake.
There's no sound.
Check the cog menu: Sound and Music are separate switches. Then check the device's media volume with the volume buttons while the game is open.
Schools
Is there a version for schools?
A school licence is coming soon. It will unlock the full game on all of a school's shared tablets, without a Google Account or a purchase on each one. Email contact email with your school's name to hear when it's ready. The schools page shows how the game links to the computing curriculum.
Devices
Which devices does it work on?
Android tablets and phones running Android 7 or newer. The game plays in landscape, so turn the device sideways. It is designed for tablets and works on phones too.
Does it need the internet?
No. Pip's Pond plays offline. Google Play only needs a connection when buying or restoring the full game.
